Burger Up

Local raised beef, fresh toppings and the best part, truffled fries. Ah let me say it again, Truffled fries! Reason enough to go to burger up. Burgers here have a great flavor but, I tend to throw caution when the burger alone is $10.00, cant say it's not worth it, It's just not worth it to me. Service was good. Atmosphere was the same. I've been a few time to try a few different things and overall I can say the menu hasnt dissapointed.

Melrose Neighborhood Pub

Ok so ive done the burger run in Nashville, The great search for the best burger. Although the results do add up to Texas, we still have some jewels and this is one of them. Melrose is a pub with a little class with your average pub with the food done better. Burgers are ONE of the TOP 5 in Nashvegas. Chicken wings are excellent with a few different flavors and waffle fries. Great late night place for drinks with a large selection of beers on tap.

Montego Bay Cafe

Montego Bay is a Jamaican restaurant located on Gallatin pike in Madison. I’ve been a few time and not only think its the best Jamaican food in Nashville but feel like im in Jamaica when im there. Reggae music in the background and a dance area for Friday nights. The owner has a success story to go with the good food. The Jerk Chicken is the best I've had, perfectly seasoned the (GRILLED) not boiled like other Nashville restaurants. I’ve also had the Jerk Shrimp and Curry Chicken which were both great. Reasonably priced under $10.00 per entree make this Caribbean spot a must try.

Angelo's Picnic Pizza

The search for great pizza in Nashville is a long journey. I suppose we should start to dissect the statement great pizza because it changes from person to person, it defines cities and cultures yet never has a standard. From New york to Chicago style
to trendy and franchise. Angelo's is a New York style pizza that Ive found to be one of the best in Nashville on the same note Ive also found it inconsistent but overall theres only a few other places in its class. They also have a lunch buffet that makes this place special from eggplant dishes all you can eat pizza strait out of the oven calamari it changes daily and theres quite a spread. If your looking for a good Italian Lunch spot with good prices 8.47 for buffet and good food without service and decor I would definitely recommend this place.

Nooley's

Nooley's is located in the bustling lunch hot spot at the farmers market downtown. this place is owned and operated by a husband and wife, my favorite type of places (mom and pop) it was originally in Franklin but after they closed and went on a long hiatus they reopened in the multi-venue market. The sandwiches are what makes this jewel stand out, referred to as po boys. I like the Nooley's special, roast beef, ham, turkey, swiss, lettuce and tomato with mayo piled on a muffaletta roll made daily at a local bakery. They also have a traditional muffaletta with Italian meat and provolone cheese and an olive tapenade. the onion rings are sliced there, the best I've had in Nashville. they have fried seafood po boys and regular subs. I personally think this place falls short on their Cajun dishes, gumbo is not very flavorful and the red beans and rice need some work. Definitely stick with the sandwiches and onion rings. The Nooley's special is the size of a small pizza so be careful when you order!

Istanbul Cafe

On a long enough timeline your chances for finding a better middle eastern restaurant fall short. I've been eating here for years and for a good reason. Chef and owner Memet Arslan has been taking the basic staple of Mediterranean cuisine and making it better but don't ask him how because all you will get is a smile. That's one of the best reasons to go here is his willingness to give you what you want. He doesn't open the doors till 11:00 but has never had a problem with me dropping in early he'll fix up a plate of feta cheese kalmatta olives, eggs, bread and honey with hot tea and good conversation. The food is always fresh and excellent from the standard gyro or the masterfully marinated chicken, perfectly seasoned kofta kebabs (a mixture of ground beef with seasoning). It's the only restaurant in Nashville that serves doner kebab all served on a pita or a plate of rice pilaf which is great itself. They have three soups which are a great appetizer tarhana, a traditional yogurt dough that's dissolved into a red soup, my favorite. Lentil and bean. There is usually a daily special like dolma (grape leaves stuffed with rice and meat) or eggplant with a red meat sauce on top which was excellent. they also have a one pound burger with perfect seasoning which puts this place in, One of the TOP 5 burgers in Nashvegas. The decor is sub par, a room with tables and a television which airs Turkish t.v. not exactly romantic but I'm reviewing the food. Which brings me to the best thing about the place is the cheap prices that you pay for the heavy amount of great tasting food. If you like middle eastern fare or want to try something new. Do yourself the favor and stop in or carry out.
